In 1968 another trim to front fenders was needed because of further lowering of the vehicle.
Moreover the rear fenders too were modified again because a new "Pendolare" trailing arm was adopted. It was a tubular arm of different geometry that allowed for less camber variation (that was too big for that lowering otherwise) and for a lower Roll Center that helped in stabilizing the vehicle handling.
It allowed to mount the coil spring (now coilover) far lower, thus lowering further the car. Moreover it's responsible for the 1000 Berlina famous handling: the rear now tends to roll much more than before so the inside front tire is often lifted from ground, especially when you use soft rear spring to help reducing oversteer tendency.
New gear ratios are homologated together with an optional 70 liters tank. Being located almost completely on front axle, a total fuel refill will make a considerable handling difference now.
Finally, from 1967, bigger brake discs are available.
